Former England C goalkeeper Adam Bartlett has signed for Sky Bet League Two side Hartlepool United.
The 29-year-old has been training with Pools during pre-season following his release from Vanarama National League club Gateshead at the end of last term.
His departure from The Tynesiders surprised many after he had made 138 appearances during a three-year stint with the Heed.
Bartlett came through the ranks at Newcastle United where he was on the books from the age of 9, playing for all their junior teams before being released at 19 and joining Blyth Spartans.
Spells with Kidderminster Harriers and Hereford United followed as he worked hard to move his way back up the leagues before joining Gateshead in the summer of 2012.
