Ebac Northern League First Division club Whitley Bay are expected to give new signing Tomi Ameobi his return debut….
….after returning from a spell in Iceland when they play Marske United at Hillheads today.
Tomi, the middle brother of Shola (the oldest) and Sammy Ameobi, who are both at Newcastle United, and the 25-year-old was also originally on the books at St James`s Park before being released as a youngster, subsequently being signed up by Leeds United in 2005.
He failed to make the senior side at Elland Road, but did make his League bow whilst on loan with Scunthorpe in November 2007.
He moved to Doncaster Rovers in the summer of 2008 and had loan stints with Grimsby Town and Mansfield before being released by Doncaster in May 2009.
He then signed for Forest Green Rovers, where he played twenty-eight times, scoring five goals, before returning to the North-East and having his first spell with Whitley Bay in July 2010.
He was offered the chance to play in Iceland in May 2011 and started out with BÍ/Bolungarvík and then Grindavík.
He returned to play for Bay again towards the end of last season before moving back to Iceland with VPS Vaasa in April.
