Barrow AFC have raided new Conference North rivals Workington for prolific striker Gareth Arnison for the forthcoming campaign.
Arnison, 25, scored nineteen goals for the Borough Park outfit last term but is out of contract and moving to Manchester and hence nearer to Barrow’s training base.
He has spent to spells at both Reds and Kendal Town and indeed scored for Kendal against Barrow in a friendly at Parkside Road in 2008.
Barrow boss Dave Bayliss is delighted to have captured a decent striker following the acquisition of pacey winger Shelton Payne on Wednesday.
The Barrow squad now boasts four new members with keeper Tony McMillan and player-coach Alex Meechan alongside Payne and Arnison.
