Vanarama National League South club Chelmsford City have signed forward Seedy Njie.

Njie, 21, started his career at Southend where he undertook a club scholarship back in July 2011.

The 6`1” attacker impressed enough to earn himself a one-year deal the following season.

His professional debut for the Shrimpers came in 2012, against Peterborough United in the Capital One Cup after coming off the bench.

The pacey forward impressed during his time at Southend’s under-18s scoring plenty of goals in the Youth Alliance League.

The Lewisham-born forward also spent time on loan at Histon, Bishop`s Stortford (scoring 2 goals in six games) and Concord Rangers, scoring once in nine appearances for the Beachboys.

He signed for Ryman League Premier Division side Billericay Town in August 2014.

Chelmsford have also signed 23-year-old goalkeeper Reece Paine on dual registration with Essex Senior League neighbours Stansted in case of emergencies.
