City Suffer Keeper Blow

Evo-Stik League Southern Premier Division club Cambridge City have been dealt an injury blow with news that….

….goalkeeper Zac Barrett will be on the sidelines for up to eight weeks.

The City stopper was injured in training last night, and an x-ray at the Lister hospital in Stevenage revealed that the ever present in Gary Roberts’ squad for the last few seasons had suffered a broken wrist.

The news will be a major blow to Roberts for his preparations ahead of the new season, and means that Barrett could be unavailable until early September – potentially missing the first three weeks of the season.

The City boss is actively looking for an interim replacement, whilst defender Lee Chaffey is being earmarked to provide emergency cover in the practice match with C.U.P tomorrow.
