Experieced Dean is Wire`s First Signing

Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division North champions Warrington Town have announced their first major signing for the forthcoming season.

Joining the Premier Division new boys is experienced former FC Halifax Town and Chorley striker James Dean.

The 30-year-old 6’3” centre forward and former kickboxing champion has signed from Vanarama National League North side Chorley where he scored nearly 60 goals in 130 appearances.

Dean`s previous clubs include Bury, Altrincham, Stalybridge Celtic, Harrogate Town and AFC Fylde.

The big fast powerful striker also starred at FC Halifax playing a pivotal role in their rise up the leagues.

Warrington manager Stuart Mellish said: “I’ve long been an admirer of James and jumped at the chance when the opportunity arose to be able to speak to him. It shows the direction the club is going and the players it can attract.”

Chairman Toby Macormac added: “James is a very experienced player and his knowledge and ability will make us even stronger up top. He spoke very highly of the club and is looking forward to taking us all the way this coming season.”
