West Auckland Town have signed defender Carl Jones from Ebac Northern League First Division rivals Shildon.
The 30-year-old came into the Shildon side as defensive cover after a series of injuries a couple of seasons ago but quickly established himself as a first choice central defender with his confident displays.
Previously he played ninety-five times for Gateshead and had professional contracts at Hartlepool United and York City.
Jones follows the earlier signing of Scottish full-back Jonathan Tiffoney after gaining international clearance.
The 25-year-old, who is primarily a right-back, began his career with Ayr United after coming through their youth academy.
He went on to make fifty-nine senior appearances before going on to play for Alloa Athletic, followed by a short spell at Irish Premier division side Limerick, then returning to Alloa.
Last season Tiffoney made twenty-nine appeared for Scottish League One Brechin City, scoring 2 goals.
