Ramsbottom United have turned to two experienced strikers to help them in their mammoth task in avoiding relegation from the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division.

Rammy find themselves eleven points behind fifth-bottom Stamford AFC and at the foot of the table but have signed prolific marksmen Steve Foster and Ashley Stott.

Foster is a vastly experienced striker who re-joined NPL First Division North side Radcliffe Borough Feb 2015 as player-coach alongside manager Danny Johnson.

AFC Telford United paid Boro £5,000 for his services in May 2006 and he went on to score goals regularly for Fleetwood Town, Curzon Ashton, Salford City, Witton Albion, Chorley, Nantwich Town and Warrington Town.

Stott joins from NPL First Divison North side Trafford, where he had been since signing from Glossop North End in November 2015.

Stott scored 3 goals in twenty-one appearances for the Hillmen before his switch to Shawe View, where he has made six appearances and scored one goal.

Stott joined the Hillmen in the summer of 2015 after being with Curzon Ashton, who he helped to gain promotion to the Vanarama National League North.

He joined Curzon from Welsh Premier side Rhyl in March 2015.

He originally came through the Preston North End youth and reserves set-up before joining Altrincham, where he was spotted by Clayton Blackmore and signed for Bangor City in July 2006, leaving two years later to join Halifax Town after heading the goal charts at Farrar Road in 2007/8.

He was leading scorer for the Shaymen in 2008/09 with 24 goals, but left midway through a two-year contract to re-join the Citizens.

After one season at Farrar Road he left again in August 2010 to join Hyde United.

After a brief spell at Witton Albion in 2010 he joined Aberystwyth Town in January 2011.

After a season at Park Avenue, grabbed 11 goals from eighteen appearances during a short spell with Witton and, after a period with Northwich Victoria, top-scored with Vauxhall Motors in 2012/13, joining Rhyl in June 2014.

He made fifteen appearances for Rhyl and scored 2 goals prior to his move to the Tameside Stadium.
