Uhlsport Hellenic League Division One East club Chinnor FC have announced they have captured the signature of former…..

…Wycombe Wanderers striker Craig Faulconbridge.

Born in Nuneaton, Faulconbridge played youth football with Coventry City before playing for Dunfermline Athletic, Hull City, Wrexham and Wycombe.

Faulconbridge notably scored a dramatic goal during the 1997/98 Scottish Premier Division season for Dunfermline against Celtic – a goal which denied Celtic the league championship that weekend, although they did go on to win the title.

He later played non-League football with Wingate & Finchley, Maidenhead United, Oxford City, Carshalton Athletic and Woking before joining Didcot Town as a player-coach in June 2011. He left in October 2011 after the resignation of manager Francis Vines.

He signed for Aylesbury FC in January 2012 and after the conclusion of the season, he was confirmed as the Moles` new player-manager.

He resigned last month.

“This is a fantastic signing for us,” commented Chinnor’s assistant-manager Craig Williams. “We met with Craig on Wednesday evening and he was very positive and upbeat about playing for his local club. He has massive experience and knowledge of the game and will be a great person to have in the dressing room. Not only will we pick up things from him, but the younger players we have in the club it will be fantastic for them.”

Faulconbridge will add more firepower to the Chinnor team who in recent weeks haven`t struggled scoring putting fifteen in the back of the net and conceding none in their last four league games.

Faulconbridge goes straight in to todays squad where Chinnor, who currently sit in fourth position, face bottom club Woodley Town in the Supplementary Cup.
