Midfielder Chris Flynn has left Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division South club Kidsgrove Athletic to focus on work commitments for his business

Flynn, who started Saturday’s match against Goole AFC, joined the club last November when manager Pete Ward returned to the club to save them from relegation.

The former Welsh undr-21 international played for Crewe, Stafford Rangers, Northwich Victoria and Nantwich Town in his career to name some of his clubs.

Flynn said: “I’ve decided to spend more time on my business. It`s a great club with some really decent people!”

Manager Peter Ward said: “I’m disappointed to lose Chris of course, but I completely understand his reasons for doing so and wish him all the best with his business.

“He helped us to survive last season and was a crucial part of the spine of the team.”
