A familiar face joined training with Vanarama National League club Torquay United yesterday, former Gulls defender Chris Todd.
Todd was part of the Torquay team that gained promotion in 2009.
“I obviously know manager Kevin Nicholson very well and I asked him if I could come in and just keep on top of things and join in with training and it was good of him to say yes,” said Todd.
“It was nice to get a good run out.”
Todd was appointed Eastleigh manager in October 2015 and led them to seventh place in the National League.
He left Eastleigh after four games of the season and is looking to get back into football as soon as he can.
“I’m just waiting for the next opportunity. I was as surprised as anyone to leave my job [with Eastleigh]. I believe I left that place in a good place.”
Todd will train with the squad in the short-term and Nicholson is happy to have his former team-mate on board, if only for a short time: “Chris has asked to train with us, and I am pleased to have him along.
“We haven’t talked about anything other than training at the moment, but at the very least he will be a good influence on the lads”.
