Derek Goulding decided to leave his position as manager of Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division North club Burscough…
….and has chosen to take a job at Welsh Premier outfit Bangor City – one of the former teams he played for.
Goulding, who played in the centre of defence for Bangor in the 1980s, was in his second spell as manager of Burscough, re-joining in 2011.
He was manager at Burscough in 2005 when they famously defeated full-time Gillingham in the FA Cup having taken over the role in 2003.
In May 2008 he joined the newly-formed AFC Liverpool as their first manager before leaving the club in Easter 2010, returning to the Linnets in September 2011.
During his playing career, Goulding won the Alliance Premier League with Altrincham in 1982 and went on to win many more honours with Bangor, Oswestry Town, Stafford Rangers, Chorley, Halifax Town and Southport, who he helped to promotion to the Conference in 1993.
Goulding has been brought in to work alongside manager Nev Powell.
