New owner Steve Lynch says he wants to signal a new era for Halesowen Town – relegated from the Zamaretto League…
…Premier Division – by giving the club its community heartbeat back.
Staffordshire-based Lynch has finally settled a takeover of the crisis-club with the Ingram brothers, Graham and Goidfrey, after two months of talks.
Lynch, a businessman from Great Wyrley, said he was attracted by the challenge to revive the Yeltz after three years of turmoil and, while he will not be a `sugar-daddy`, he wants the club to flourish with the backing of the fans and the local area.
“It’s been a difficult few years for the club but I don’t want to dwell on the past,” he said. “At the end of the day, this is the start of a new era for Halesowen Town.”
Lynch has already confirmed that Shaun Cunnington, who kept the club alive in the final months of a season when he had no playing budget, will remain as manager for next season.
He will also be meeting members of the Yeltz Trust fans group tonight and says the supporters will have a big role to play in the revitalising the club.
The Trust has given a cautious welcome to the news of the takeover.
