Kidderminsters Harriers have confirmed that two more of their players have extended their stays at Aggborough by agreeing new contracts with the Vanarama National League club.
After making strong starts to life in Worcestershire after making debuts in the January transfer window, both Ousmane Fane and Elton Ngwatala have penned fresh terms to keep them with Harriers until the end of the 2016/17 campaign.
The pairing have played a huge part in Harriers’ recent improvements in results and performances and have quickly gained popularity amongst the Aggborough faithful for their all-action displays at the heart of midfield.
Speaking about the news, chief executive and acting team boss, Colin Gordon, commented: “These two lads have worked incredibly hard since coming into the team and whilst it’s great for the club to tie them down, it’s a good reward for them, too.
“It’s important to point out that a lot of credit should go to Dave Hockaday for identifying them as targets and doing a lot of work to bring them here – they’ve made a massive difference.”
The news is somewhat bittersweet for Ngwatala who is currently out with a knee injury.
Set to see a surgeon shortly, the player could undergo minor surgery later this week with a view to returning as swiftly as possible.
Gordon added: “Elton’s had performed terrifically so there was never a problem with extending his contract – we made a commitment to a player and we happy to see that through because it’s the right thing to do and because he’s a part of our future here.”
