Hayes Play at Woking – Chairman Switch

Derek Goodall is stepping down as chairman of Skrill South club Hayes & Yeading United with the role being taken up by Tony O’Driscoll.

Goodall was the inaugural chairman of the merged club back in 2007 following many years of service at Hayes FC. He has been instrumental not only in guiding both Hayes FC and Hayes & Yeading United to the pinnacle of non-league football, as well as many memorable FA Cup runs, but also in securing both clubs amidst difficult times with prudence.

He is well known and well respected within the non-league scene and will no doubt be greatly missed by many both inside and outside of the club.

O’Driscoll takes the helm having had experience of chairmanship before at Chesham United FC. He has fulfilled many senior roles at various clubs, including both first team manager and director of football at Hayes & Yeading United. Tony is a successful businessman with a real affinity for the club.

He will oversee this season’s move into the Sharda Glass Community Stadium, as well as developing the wide reaching projects set up by his predecessor, which are designed to unlock the exciting long term potential of the club.

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Derek Goodall after everything he has given to and achieved at both clubs, but with excitement and anticipation, we also welcome Tony to his new role.

Meanwhile, the club has confirmed that first-team home fixtures will initially be played at Woking’s Kingfield Stadium.

This is due to the delays in getting The Sharda Glass Community Stadium ready for action.
