The Football Supporters’ Federation fully supports Non-League Day which is now into its fourth year. NLD started as a Facebook campaign in 2010 organised by a handful of fans. It has since grown to become a celebration of football outside of the 92 league sides.

The event is the brainchild of QPR and Harrow Borough fan James Doe. It has received national media coverage from the likes of the BBC, Guardian, Sky Sports, and Talksport, and celebrates the depth of support for football in the UK.

“Non-League Day isn’t about supporting just another team, it’s about supporting grassroots football which will ensure the foundations of the game in this country stay strong,” says James.

NLD usually takes place in September or October and is timed to coincide with an international break when many clubs have gaps in their fixture list. This gives fans the chance to check out a different local side.

The day helps promote hundreds of clubs across the country, many of which are volunteer run and valuable community assets, but also requires a lot of dedication and hard work from its volunteers.
