Farsley Celtic`s young goalkeeper Tom Taylor has made a summer move to fellow Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division North club and West Yorkshire rivals, Brighouse Town.

Taylor originally played for the club as a 17-year-old in Farsley’s inaugural season in 2010/11 when the club re-formed, and was part of the squad that achieved the NCEL Premier League and Cup ‘double’.

He moved on during the 2011/12 season and joined up with then NCEL Premier League side Brighouse Town. He was also on the books at FC Halifax Town and had spells with Garforth Town, Eccleshill United and Ossett Town at various stages in his career.

In November 2013, Tom returned to Throstle Nest, and went on to establish himself as first-choice goalkeeper with the departure of Tom Morgan to Bradford Park Avenue.

Taylor’s prowess between the sticks was recognised in 2014/15 when he won the NPL First Division North young player of the year award and also by fans at Throstle Nest when he was voted supporters’ player of the year in both the 2014/15 and 2015/16 seasons.
