Kettering Town manager Mark Stimson has confirmed the Blue Square Bet Premier club has been placed under a transfer embargo.
The situation has come about because of the Poppies’ refusal to pay their players’ wages in full.
It means the three signings made on loan deadline day yesterday – Charlie Collins from MK Dons and Peter Grant and Michael Richens from Peterborough United – have now been scrapped.
Stimson said: “I’ve been told there is an embargo in place.
“I asked questions but the club just said there are a couple issues.
“Unfortunately we haven’t been allowed to bring anyone in so all the work we’ve done over the last two days has been a waste of time.”
Stimson’s side take on Grimsby Town at Nene Park tomorrow, but his selection options will now obviously be limited.
