Glenn Kirkwood, manager of Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division South club Mickleover Sports, has finally got his man….
….after signing former Chesterfield striker Jacob Hazel.
Hazel, 20, joins from NPL Premier Division side Ashton United where he had only been for a short time having signed for rivals FC United of Manchester in July after being released by the Spireites.
Hazel originally joined the Reds in March on-loan until the end of the 2013/14 season.
He played for Norwegian side SK Sprint-Jeloy earlier that season and also had spells on loan Buxton and Conference North side Bradford Park Avenue following stints at Matlock Town and Workington during the 2012/13 campaign.
The Bradford-born player made two first-team appearances for the Spireites.
Re-joining Sports is Jordan Ball, who returns from another NPL Premier Division outfit in Belper Town.
He re-joined the Nailers for his second spell at the club in July after the former Doncaster Rovers striker opted for a move back to Belper from Mickleover.
He joined Doncaster`s Centre of Excellence in 2008 and he was offered a one-year professional contract in April 2012.
In August of that year he arrived on loan to Belper where he scored on his debut against Coalville Town.
He returned to Doncaster and scored for them in his first senior game for them against Chesterfield in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.
Following his release by Rovers at the end of the 2012/13 season he had a very brief spell at FC Halifax Town but then decided to join his local side Rainworth Miners Welfare.
An offer from Mickleover tempted him to the Station Road club in December 2013.
