Blue Square Bet North club Gainsborough Trinity have signed former Burnley striker Dominic Knowles.
Knowles has been battling for a contract with npower League Two newcomers York City after being released by the Championship outfit at the end of last season, and impressed Minstermen boss Gary Mills.
However, Mills decided against offering Knowles a contract and instead he has signed for Trinity.
Knowles made it as far as the bench for Burnley`s final league game of last season against Cardiff City.
The 20-year-old, who came through Burnley’s youth system, had been a regular in the reserves last season after two years as a professional at Turf Moor.
