Vanarama National North club Gloucester City have announced that they have re-signed central midfielder Matt Liddiard from Cirencester Town.

Liddiard, 22, is a graduate from our excellent youth academy, which has produced several first-team players over the years.

Since making his first team debut in 2010, Liddiard has gone on to make fifty appearances for the Tigers and has scored 3 goals in that time.

Liddiard was Cirencester Town’s player of the season for the 2014/15 campaign and manager Tim Harris said he is “absolutely delighted” the Hartpury graduate has re-joined the side.

A commanding central midfielder, Liddiard was captain of the Hartpury College team that lifted the British Universities & College Sports Championship title this year, following a 1-0 win over defending champions Stirling.

Liddiard has also taken over the role as head of our burgeoning community programme from the outgoing Jim Hart.

Meanwhile, Tom Webb and Jack Harris will miss the beginning of pre-season with injuries but it is hoped that they will feature at some point towards the latter stages
