Assistant-manager Barry Massay has resigned following a reshuffle amongst the coaching staff at Evo-Stik Northern….
….Premier League First Division North club Salford City.
Massay enjoys legendary status amongst Salford supporters due to his committed and robust performances during several spells with the club.
He was appointed joint-manager at Moor Lane along with Phil Power in the summer of 2013 and the current campaign started in fine style.
The Ammies were unbeaten after the opening six Evo-Stik League games but form began to dip and changes were made amongst the coaching staff.
In October the managerial reins were handed to Power with Massay as his assistant but that arrangement has only lasted a matter of weeks.
Massay enjoyed plenty of success managing Manchester League side Hindsford over recent seasons and much prefers the number one role.
He made the reluctant decision to leave Moor Lane and offered his resignation on Wednesday.
Stuart Rudd – another ex-Ammie – has been appointed assistant-manager following Massay’s departure.
