Hampton & Richmond Borough have confirmed former York City, Millwall and West Ham striker Moses Ashikodi has….
….signed for the Ryman League Premier Division club.
The much-travelled 26-year-old current Antigua international goes straight into the squad for this weekend’s home match with Grays Athletic.
Starting his career on the books at Millwall, where he became their youngest-ever first-team player, he went on to have spells with West Ham, Glasgow Rangers, Watford and Shrewsbury before going non-League with Kettering Town in 2009.
Stints of varying lengths have followed at Ebbsfleet United, Kettering again, York City and Ebbsfleet again before joining Enfield Town at the beginning of this month.
Beavers co-managers Paul Barry and Darren Powell have been frustrated at the club’s lack of goals this season – and the over-reliance on top scorer Charlie Moone.
Ashikodi has agreed to play for the club and Barry is thrilled at his new addition: “It’s no secret that we have been leaning on Charlie to get us out of holes this season.
“The fact that our second highest scorers are sitting on two goals paints a very clear picture – we need to have others hitting the net more often.
“Moses has been with Enfield Town this season getting games and we’re delighted to have him on board. It could be a big signing.
“We know the match with Grays will be tough this weekend but we feel if we take our chances we have a great chance.”
