After a tempestuous couple of days which has seen both promotion winning managers leave, Farsley Celtic now know their future.

Following the news that Neil Parsley and John Deacey were to leave Throstle Nest, the club have acted decisively.

Farsley have confirmed their new manger and highly regarded Adam Lakeland has been given the job of taking charge of Celtic in the EvoStik NPL Premier division.

The new man can’t wait for the challenge and explained more about his background.

“I was at Curzon Ashton for a couple of years and I had a really good time there,” he told the club’s website. “We got promoted from the Evo-Stik league and up to the National League North in just two seasons. Following that I went and worked for Blackburn Academy for a year

“I decided to take my first step as a Manager and went to Northwich in the January and we got them into the play-offs – unfortunately we lost out to Spennymoor that season, but we had a good year. The following season wasn’t great as I decided to leave due to stuff that was going on at the time

“I have had a while out of football since then and watched a lot of football. I got the chance of a move to come to come to Farsley and in fairness it was a no brainer.

“This is a historic Non-League football club and I cannot wait to get started.

“This is a great club. I have been so impressed with what everyone has had to say and I can’t wait to get going.”

And it seems the playoff winners will all be given their chance.

“I can’t see a massive change within the current squad,” he said. “It is strange coming into a situation where you have a team that has just won promotion and you have to take them on, but it will be a great challenge.

“I want to keep the basis of this great squad together. I know that there will be a few that want to move on, and we will want to bring a couple in, but that’s it.”
