Northwich Victoria Send Out An SOS

Northwich Victoria say they are still in need of a saviour having slipped into administration last month.

The troubled Vics are on life support and need to find around £30,000 – or the game could lose a famous NonLeague football club.

If they don’t find the money, the future looks bleak but the club’s Supporters’ Association are trying to keep the club in existence.

Some fans had enough a long time ago and left to create 1874 Northwich who now play in the North West Counties League.

Acting chairman Brian Turner is on the record saying as saying the struggle is a ‘major concern’ as he encouraged people to make themselves known.

He said: “If we don’t find the money we still need and find people to help push this club forward then the reality of the situation is that we have no future.

“The supporters have been putting money in but that’s only going to last so long. This is the biggest test we have faced no doubt about it.

“We aren’t giving up hope but we have to be realistic and say we need support from somewhere urgently. We need help and quickly as time is running out now.”

Turner added. “We can’t afford the rent we are currently paying by groundsharing at Witton Albion and if we get through this period the club will be leaving in the summer.

“It’s all gone very wrong since we left the Victoria Stadium in 2012 but we believe in the club and with prompt support if someone is out there, we can one day prosper again.”
