Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division North club Hyde United have announced that Leon Osborne and Ryan Ellison have committed their long term futures to the Tigers for our 2017/18 campaign.
Osborne said: “I am really happy to sign for Hyde for the coming season and look forward to being part of a winning team. I have enjoyed the last few months since signing in March and believe we will have a very competitive squad for next season.”
Manager Darren Kelly added: “Leon is a fantastic addition to the squad. He has experience in the pro game with Bradford City, and adds quality, pace and power. Leon joined late in the season and was injured for the last few games, but being able to work with him as part of a full pre-season, will mean that Leon will be able to show everyone what a talent he is. ”
CEO Mark Worthington confirmed: “We are really happy to be able to get Leon on board for the coming season. He is a very talented footballer, who will add experience, pace, power and goals to the squad. He is another player with a very professional attitude and will enhance training and games with his ability and desire to always do his best.”
Ellison commented: “I am pleased to be offered the chance to stay with Hyde for 2017/18. I had an in and out season last year with injury, but I have enjoyed the development work done by Darren and his coaching staff, and feel I can contribute and push on in the coming year.”
Kelly said: “Ryan has real quality, built on the foundations of several years at Manchester City and Sunderland, and this shows in the way he plays and trains. He is a modern full-back and is comfortable on the right or left, which is great for the balance of the squad. He will continue to develop and will play an important part in the coming season.”
Worthington confirmed: “Ryan joined us straight from Sunderland two years ago, and has been a regular in the squad over that period. He thrives on confidence, and he has benefitted from working with Darren, staring to show signs of his real ability in the second half of the season. I am sure he will push on from here in 2017/18”.
