Midfielder Sanchez Payne became the third player to sign for Vanarama National League North club Bradford Park Avenue in 24 hours.
The former Leeds United man has been on trial at the Horsfall Stadium for the majority of pre-season, featuring in all-but-one of Avenue’s friendlies.
He played 90 minutes in his first appearance against Newcastle United, when head coach Alex Meechan chose to keep his identity under wraps.
Payne then went on to appear at Nelson and Consett before playing the majority of Avenue’s most recent friendly against Guiseley AFC last Saturday.
The skilful 23-year-old started his career in the academy at Elland Road, before his release in 2013.
He initially joined Doncaster Rovers, but a serious injury scuppered any chances of earning a contract and he was left without a club until he signed for Stockport County in 2014.
A spell at Frickley Athletic followed before last season, when Payne started out at Ossett Town but took a self-imposed break from the game, before returning to Ingfield for the latter stages of the campaign.
The midfielder adds competition in the centre of the park, joining Luke Dean and new signing Nicky Wroe in the fight for a place in the starting XI when August 6th comes round.
