Vanarama National League North club Darlington 1883 will hand a debut to new goalkeeper Ben Dudzinski after agreeing a one-month`s loan with Sky Bet League Two side Hartlepool United.
The 21-year-old is expected to start Sunday’s Buildbase FA Trophy Third Qualifying Round tie with Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division side Marine AFC with manager Martin Gray bringing him in to temporarily replace Peter Jameson.
Quakers’ usual number one begins a three-match suspension after being red-carded for violent conduct during Darlington’s defeat at AFC Telford United last weekend, but Gray moved fast to bring in a replacement.
Dudzinski, from South West London, moved to the region when he began a Sports Science degree at Durham University three years ago.
And after starring for the university team, as well as Ebac Northern League sides Tow Law Town, Ashington and Durham City, Dudzinski has been snapped up by Pools after a successful trial.
Having played for Ryman League Premier Division outfit Kingstonian whilst in the south, Dudzinski was given the chance to train with Pools during the latter part of last season and he did enough to impress goalkeeper coach Tony Caig and boss Craig Hignett.
The youngster completed this degree course before joining-up with Pools in pre-season to offer competition to senior goalkeepers Trevor Carson and Adam Bartlett.
Dudzinski is the Quakers’ second loan keeper this season having previously had Paul Woolston from Championship neighbours Newcastle United when Jameson was injured.
Woolston is now out on loan with Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division side Blyth Spartans.
