Vanarama National League South club St Albans City have taken young defender Jorell Johnson on a month`s Loan from Barclays Premier League neighbours Watford.

Johnson was awarded a one-year professional contract with the Hornets having the option on an additional twelve months, ahead of the 2014/15 campaign.

An influential central defender, Johnson joined the Watford Academy in May 2007 and captained the under-18s during his two years as a scholar at Vicarage Road, before signing professional terms in May 2014.

Injury kept Johnson side-lined for five months of the 2013/14 season, but he was a regular fixture in the under-18s from late January onwards.

He joined Saints` league rivals Hemel Hempstead Town on loan in August 2014 and spent the entire 2014/15 campaign with his home-town club, returning to be rewarded with a new deal by the Hornets.
