Gary Setchell, manager of Evo-Stik League Southern Premier Division club King`s Lynn Town, has pulled off a major transfer coup after announcing that striker John Sands has agreed terms for next season.

Sands joined the Linnets on loan from Vanarama National League North neighbours Boston United at the back end of last season, making ten appearances and finding the net on 6 occasions.

Setchell said “I’m over the moon that I have managed to convince John to join King’s Lynn Town. Last season the fans had just a taste of what John can bring to the table in just a short spell at the club. We as a club have beaten of some very high profile clubs to secure the signature. This hopefully will put an early smile on the supporters.”

The 28-year-old numbers Mildenhall Town, Bury Town, Canvey Island, Chelmsford City and Leiston amongst his other former clubs.

It has also been announced that 25-year-old defender Jordan Yong has agreed terms for next season.

Setchell has also agreed terms with goalkeeper Alex Street, captain Sam Gaughran and Ryan and Liam Fryatt.

With 263 appearances under his belt, Street should pass the appearance record of fellow ‘keeper Norman Coe, 267, and possibly that of Andy Claxton, 318, in the coming season.

Not staying at The Walks though is Liam Hurst.

Hurst was in his second spell with the club having signed from Cambridge United.

The 21-year-old made a total of fifty-nine appearances for Lynn, scoring 6 goals.
