Alan Semley, manager of Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division South club Goole AFC, has confirmed his latest new signing and revealed he is pleased with pre-season progress to date.
Semley confirmed the signing of former Brigg Town, Retford United and Shirebrook Town forward Leigh Hutchinson.
He joins Sam Colbear, signed from Hemsworth Miners Welfare, Jamie Coulson from Louth Town, Joe Davies from Frickley Athletic, Hutchinson`s former Brigg team-mate Charlie Fisher and Ryan Musselwhite and Joe Singleton from league rivals Lincoln United and Stocksbridge Park Steels respectively.
Semley said: “We are pleased with the progress of the players who have worked hard in the sessions so far.
“The first few matches will be an opportunity for players available to stake a claim in the team with a number of the squad missing in the early weeks due to holidays, work commitments and recovering from injury.
“We will be looking at one or two different formations early on to see if the players are comfortable and can adapt but ultimately still play to their strengths and apply hard work in whichever position asked to play.
“The new additions to the team have given the squad more strength in depth after highlighting areas we needed to improve towards the end of last season. Both offensively and defensively we will be more balanced and with one or two more players coming in, the squad will be set.
“Every effort behind the scenes has been done to provide the platform to achieve some real progress for the club this year on and off the field and we will strive to do our part putting together and developing a competitive team the club can be proud of.”
