Steven Tames is enjoying life at Rivacre Park, bagging a brace in Vauxhall Motors’ 2-1 victory over Leamington…
….in the Skrill North on Saturday.
The on-loan striker certainly made a good first impression on the Motors` supporters with two goals on his home debut, securing three points for the Motormen.
The double-strike against Leamington made it three goals in three games for the forward who has arrived from Conference Premier side Southport.
After the game, he said that’s he pleased to be at Vauxhall Motors: “I’ve enjoyed it up to now. Manager Carl Macauley just wants to get the ball down and play so it’s enjoyable to play in this team.
My match fitness, sharpness and touch is coming back because I haven’t played too much this season.”
He’s also enjoying being in the goals: “Getting on the scoresheet is good for me and my confidence and for the team. I hope we can push on from here now.”
Tames’ second goal against Leamington was courtesy of a mix-up between the Brakes’ keeper and centre-back with the striker making sure he was ready to capitalise. “It was probably a lack of communication between them and as a striker, you just gamble and it obviously worked and I just tapped it in.”
