Ashford Town (Middx) were looking to move into the top five in the Evo-Stik League Southern Division One Central table when they travelled to Creasey Park to take on AFC Dunstable on Sunday.
However, in the battle against two sides promoted at the end of last season, it was the reigning Spartan South Midlands League champions who came out emphatically on top to move into tenth spot.
The hosts took an 18th minute lead through BJ Christie at the far post, and extended it just 4 minutes later when Josh Humbert burst through the Tangerines` defence to score.
It was 3-0 with only 35 minutes gone on the clock with Christie`s second of the game when his cross-cum-shot from close to the touchline hit the far post and went in.
It was game over just shy of the hour-mark when a cross from Danny Murphy was headed home by Jermaine Hall.
The visitors grabbed a consolation 10 minutes from time through Dan Fleming.
