Striker Joe Taylor has started a one month loan with Ryman League Division One South rivals Ramsgate but will be back at….
….Folkestone Invicta on Christmas Eve ahead of Boxing Day’s big Shepway derby clash with Hythe Town at the Fullicks Stadium.
Invicta boss Neil Cugley has been looking at a loan for the 23-year-old for a couple of weeks, but the injury that kept top scorer Ian Draycott out of the first FA Trophy tie against Burgess Hill Town meant those arrangements had to go on hold for a week or so.
Cugley said: “Joe needs more match time than he is getting with us at the moment and he’s played at Ramsgate before so has an idea of the set-up over at Southwood.
“But we want him back for the big Boxing Day game which is sure to attract a big crowd and is sure to be a great occasion.”
Cugley was not too displeased over postponement of Tuesday’s game at Redhill – giving the squad more time to get themselves into the right frame of mind for the visit to league leaders Faversham Town this weekend.
“Faversham haven’t got a midweek game either, so that evens things up even more.
“We’ll train hard on Thursday and have a good sharpening up session for Saturday which has always looked like being a big game for both clubs.
“We know pretty much how Faversham play and there is no way it’s going to be easy, but these are the games that players should really be looking forward to.
“Everybody’s fit and as long as we steer clear of illness we should have a really strong squad out.”
There’s a lot of mutual respect between Cugley and the Town duo of Ray Turner and Clive Walker and rarely very much between these two east Kent sides.
