Two Departures from Castle

Newcastle Town have announced that striker Ben Mills has left the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division South….

…club due to work commitments.

Mills joined the club at the beginning of the season from Leek Town for his second spell with Castle and went on to score one goal against neighbours Kidsgrove Athletic.

Meanwhile, Newcastle have confirmed that reserve team manager Wayne Mountford has parted company with the club, with assistant boss Oliver Gilford also leaving.

Former player Mountford was appointed reserve team boss last year and guided the side to a mid-table finish in the Staffs Senior County League.

He also saw his side reach the final of the Leek Cup last year where they were beaten 4-3 in a remarkable game against Ball Haye Green.

General manager Geoff Ecclestone will take charge of the reserves’ league fixture at home to Kidsgrove today, with the club looking to appoint a successor by next weekend.
