Matty Dodd and Lee Chilton have become the latest members of Leamington’s Evo-Stik League Southern Premier….
….Division title-winning squad to agree terms for the forthcoming campaign.
The two Black Country-based midfielders were key components of Paul Holleran’s side last term, both notching twelve goals for Brakes.
Chilton picked up the supporters’ goal of the season award for one of a number of stunning strikes, while Dodd took up the mantle of penalty taker supreme, bagging a hat-trick from the spot in a win at Cambridge City.
“I’m very pleased that Matty and Lee have agreed to sign up for next season,” said Holleran. “They have both played important roles for us since joining the club.”
Meanwhile, the Leamington boss has been busy making moves to fill his goalkeeping positions, with Niall Cooper having left the club and Laurie Walker opting to remain at Brackley Town.
First to arrive is Lewis Fenney, who spent last season with Boldmere St Michaels in the Midland Alliance.
The 19-year-old, who has also had spells at Cambridge United and Rushall Olympic, returns to the New Windmill Ground having made one previous appearance for the Brakes back in 2011/12, and is eager to make his mark this time around.
“I’m excited to have been given the opportunity to join the squad at Leamington, and am looking forward to competing for a place in the team next season,” he said.
