Conference North club AFC Telford United have signed two central midfielders in Alan Moogan and Russell Benjamin.
Twenty-nine-year-old Moogan is a combative midfielder who also adds a touch of creativity to the central midfield area.
The former Burscough and Southport midfielder started his career at Everton and made appearances for England at under-18 level.
He acted as player-coach at Southport under Liam Watson and will take a similar role with the manager at the New Bucks Head.
Benjamin, 22, is a product of Southport’s youth system. He spent two years at Rochdale and then returned to Southport where he featured regularly last season, but was released at the end of May.
