Webb Raids Neighbours for Reid

Dave Webb, manager of Evo-Stik League Southern Division One South & West club Swindon Supermarine, has brought in 19-year-old forward George Reid from league rivals Didcot Town.

After a seven-day notice expired last week, the necessary paperwork was signed and he was registered in time for Saturday’s home match with Taunton Town.

Reid’s capture from Didcot was dampened by the news that both Ryan O’Hara and Dan Martin have left the club in the past week.

Webb said: “This week we have managed to secure George Reid from Didcot. He’s 19-years-old, very quick and can play on either wing or he can go through the middle.

“With Dan Martin going back to university in Cardiff this week, George, who started out at Wycombe Wanderers, is a direct replacement for him.

“Ryan O’Hara has also left. He has been frustrated because he wasn’t getting first-team football. He has been a great servant for club and we wish him well wherever he goes next”.
