Blue Square Bet Premier club Kidderminster Harriers have confirmed that one face who won’t be back at Aggborough…..
….next season is defender Mike Williams.
The popular full-back, who has been something of a mainstay for the club over a memorable three-season spell, will not be offered a new deal for 2013/14.
Though closing in on the 100 appearance-mark for the club during his time at Aggborough, Williams’ biggest share of action came in his first two years.
Certainly in the season just ended he was involved in a much more limited capacity, although his final outing was a solid performance in the play-off semi-final defeat to former club Wrexham.
He’ll now be able to search for first-team football elsewhere, with assistant boss Gary Whild commenting: “Willo has played a massive part in things here for the last three seasons both on and off the pitch.
“He’s always conducted himself in the right way and played to his potential.
“It’s an enormous credit to the squad we had last season that we were able to call on someone with such great experience from the bench but it’s only right that a player of his ilk will now want to go and get himself fixed up.
“He’s played a lot of football for someone still relatively young and, being naturally left sided I am sure he’ll be an asset elsewhere.
“With the way he goes about his business and keeps himself fit he could easily have another eight or ten years in the game and he certainly leaves Kidderminster with the best wishes of everyone here.”
