The top two in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division South, Leek Town and Mickleover Sports, both….

…..won on Saturday and moved clear of third-placed Carlton Town, who were on FA Cup duty.

Leek enjoyed a good 3-0 win at the Victoria Pleasure Grounds against much-improved Goole AFC.

Jordan Johnson grabbed a first half brace in the 28th and 45th minutes to put the leaders in command and then Andy Kinsey added a third to make sure on 66 minutes.

Mickleover were 2-0 winners at The Scholars against Chasetown, courtesy of goals from Simeon Oshoboke after 69 and 86 minutes.

Coalville Town moved into fourth after a 5-2 success at Coronation Park against Eastwood Town.

Callum Woodward gave the Ravens a 7th minute lead from the penalty spot and 4 minutes later Anthony Carney scored his first to make it 2-0.

Carney on 34 minutes and Ben Saunders on 38 made the points vicrtually safe for the visitors, although Coalville boss Adam Stevens wouldn`t have been happy with conceding two from Tony Law in the 70th minute and then Kieran Wells 5 minutes from time, although Jordan Hempenstall did manage to make it a nap hand in stoppage time.

Brigg Town moved off the bottom of the table after a 4-2 away win at Market Drayton Town.
