Sam Finley has joined Vanarama Conference club Wrexham on loan from Welsh Premier side The New Saints until the end of the season.
The former Warrington Town midfielder joined the Red Dragons at the 11th hour last night and will now spend the remainder of the season with Kevin Wilkin’s side.
Finley, 22, was the Welsh Premier`s young player of the year for 2013/14 but injury problems have restricted the tenacious midfielder to only eight appearances during the current campaign.
Liverpool-born Finley will be available for selection when Wrexham next play a league game, but along with Kieron Morris, can’t play in the Gateshead FA Trophy replay.
Manager Kevin Wilkin was happy that his patience finally paid off, as the last of the red tape was finalised and the player confirmed as available for the rest of the season.
“I’m glad it’s all done and Sam will offer us something different in midfield to what we already have got,” he said. “Obviously Carl Darlington has worked closely with him, helped bring him through and given the player a strong recommendation.
“Hopefully, he will bring something different to the midfield area.”
